Jonathan Alter is an award-willing historian, columnist, author, documentary filmmaker and television producer. In 2019, he co-produced and co-directed Breslin and Hamill: Deadline Artists, and the film was the winner of the 2020 Emmy Award for Outstanding Historical Documentary. An MSNBC political analyst and former senior editor at Newsweek, he has written three New York Times bestsellers: The Center Holds: Obama and His Enemies,The Promise: President Obama, Year One and The Defining Moment: FDR’s Hundred Days and the Triumph of Hope.

William Shatner

In seven decades of acting, William Shatner has portrayed numerous characters on television, in film and theater. He became a cultural icon for the portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise in the Star Trek media franchise. He starred in the police drama T.J. Hooker, hosted the reality based television series Rescue 911 and starred as attorney Denny Crane in the final season of the legal drama The Practice and in its spinoff series Boston Legal, a role that earned him two Emmy Awards.

Trumpeter Herb Alpert turned the Tijuana Brass into gold, earning 15 gold and 14 platinum records, winning nine Grammy Awards between 1966 and 2014 and receiving the Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama. Alpert co-founded A&M Records with his business partner, Jerry Moss, which recorded artists as varied as Carole King, Cat Stevens, the Carpenters, Janet Jackson, Peter Frampton, Joe Cocker, Quincy Jones, Sergio Mendes and the Police.
