Born in 1936 in Wilmington, North Carolina, Charlie Daniels was raised on a musical diet that included Pentecostal gospel, local bluegrass bands and the rhythm and blues and country music emanating respectively from Nashville’s 50,000-watt mega-broadcasters WLAC and WSM. Soon after high school and already skilled on guitar, fiddle and mandolin, Daniels formed a rock and roll band and hit the road.

Richard Thomas is best known for his leading role as John Walton Jr. (John-Boy) in the television series The Waltons which was inspired by writer, producer Earl Hamner Jr.’s own childhood and lasted nine seasons on CBS. The pilot aired as a television movie entitled The Homecoming: A Christmas Story that was broadcast on December 19, 1971.

Massachusetts native Anthony Joseph (Joe) Perry formed a group called The Jam Band. After meeting Steven Tyler, Perry and Tom Hamilton, joined by Brad Whitford and Joey Kramer, would go on to form Aerosmith. The band had a string of hit records during the mid-1970s with albums Toys in the Attic and Rocks and hit singles “Dream On, “Same Old Song and Dance,” “Sweet Emotion” and “Walk This Way.”
