Tim Bluhm

Songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist Tim Bluhm is known as the primary vocalist and guitarist for the Mother Hips, a rock band based in the San Francisco Bay area. The group was founded in 1990 while Bluhm, Greg Lociacono (guitars/vocals), Isaac Parsons (bass) and Mike Wofchuck (drums) were attending California State University-Chico. After releasing four albums with the Mother Hips in the 1990s, Bluhm issued his solo debut, Land & Sea Chanteys, and has released other solo albums since that time.

James "JY" Young

Born November 14, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, James Young is best known for playing lead guitar and singing in the rock band Styx. He was nicknamed by Styx members and longtime fans as “JY." From 1977 to 1981, the group released four consecutive albums that have been certified multi-platinum, The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight, Cornerstone and Paradise Theater, and Styx became one of the biggest bands in the country.

Swedish guitarist, composer, songwriter and bandleader Yngwie Johan Malmsteen first became known in the 1980s for his neoclassical playing style in heavy metal, and he has released 21 studio albums in a career spanning over 40 years. Time magazine rated him as number nine among the 11 greatest electric guitar players of all time. He played briefly with the band Steeler on its 1983 self-titled album and then appeared with Graham Bonnet in the band Alcatrazz, playing on its 1983 debut, No Parole from Rock ‘n’ Roll, and the 1984 live album Live Sentence.
